RESPITE WORKER

Looking for a respite worker to support a 45-year-old lady with Down Syndrome. She is currently transitioning to living in a condo with a supportive roommate.  She needs no personal care but at this time does not like being alone.  Her "companion sitters" (Sarah's word!) should be open to keeping Sarah engaged in healthy activities like walking.

As she makes this transition we anticipate changing needs and respite times. If you are interested in exploring this further, want to know more about Sarah, or have any other questions, please call 902-463-7155 or text 902-478-4280.  Any meet and greet to see if Sarah and you are a good fit would be paid.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are actively looking for volunteers for our Community Access Program (CAP) to assist our Program Manager and participants during weekly recreational community activities. We also need volunteers for peer support events like our upcoming Art of Disability Festival on August 10 and our monthly Community Cooking and Connections (CCC) activities. If you are interested in learning more and getting involved, reach out to us at ilnsadmin@ilns.ca or 902-453-0004.
